Professor Niamh Brennan, founder and Academic Director of the UCD Centre for Corporate Governance

James Kavanagh, Chairman of CGAI congratulates Professor Niamh Brennan on being inducted into the Accounting, Auditing & Accountability Journal (AAAJ) Hall of Fame for her “distinguished contributions to the progress of interdisciplinary accounting research”.

An expert in corporate governance, Professor Brennan was recognised for her work by the well-known peer review journal in July 2019. Prof. Brennan is the first academic based in Ireland to be welcomed into the body’s Hall of Fame named at the 2019 Asia-Pacific Interdisciplinary Research in Accounting (APIRA) conference. In recognition of her substantial contribution to UK academic accounting and finance life, Professor Brennan received the 2018 British Accounting & Finance Association Distinguished Academic Award. This is the first time that the honour has been awarded to an academic from outside the UK in its 25 year history.
